END OF TERM ONE CELEBRATIONS

It has been a long, but successful term with many fun and exciting events and learning experiences.
Today we farewelled Mr Bokser and the children had fun organising lots of fun games to share with him.

Later we shared the wonderful work on different countries created during our "Around the World" inquiry. After a community lunch we were all treated to fun facts, dances, songs and even a caber toss. Have a great holiday and enjoy a well deserved rest.

RIPPA tournament

What a great group of kids stepped up to represent the school at the recent rippa tournament. Miss Paterson was very proud of them all and as you can see, they had a great day. Thank you so much to all our parent coaches and to Miss Paterson for co-ordinating our squad. it was great to see all the rural kids hanging out together and having fun.

LITERACY EVENING

What a great turn out we had at the literacy meeting after school today. We shared lots of ways of working in partnership - Parents, whanau and school, with the aim of supporting the children with reading, spelling and writing.

Here are some ideas for writing at home

Ideas on how to support decoding......

...and comprehension.

extra activities to make it fun

The kids must take responsibility too, if they want to achieve in spelling

When reading see if they can make connections to things around them

writing is a challenge, so make sure you provide lots of exciting reasons to write at home.
