Kaupapa Maori Festival

I was so proud of the Ardgowan kids as they took part in the Kaupapa Maori Festival this week. They looked awesome and performed well.

SCIENCE FAIR

What a great term we have had, exploring lots of different scientific skills in order to plan, conduct, record and analyse science data through our science fair. We have learnt lots of new science knowledge as a result and learnt a lot about how to work effectively as part of a group, and how to present our findings in a clear and eye catching way. We are very proud of our achievements. Take a look at some of the great work from Room 3.

QUIZ

A huge thank you to everyone who came along tonight to support our camp fundraiser quiz and to the teachers for organising the questions. It was so much fun and everyone really got into the party spirit - There were some tricky questions and some funny ones, and everyone had a great time. Well done to Theresa Koorey for being our host for the evening. I can't wait for next year.

Visit to the Marae

We have had 2 wonderful days visiting the Moeraki Marae. The children showed great interest and respect and participated in flax weaving, games and martial arts and acted out stories. For many of the children, and adults this was a new and exciting experience and really brought our learning to life.

GYM FESTIVAL

The gym festival was a great afternoon for the Waitaki Rural Schools. On our day we participated with Glenavy, Maheno and Kakanui Schools and the children really challenged themselves to be the best that they could be. I was really impressed with their level of skill and their commitment to just having a go. A huge thank you must go to Waitaki Girl's High School Year 10 girls, who supported the event and ran the activities. They were a great group of girls to work with. I can't wait until next year's event!!!
